Why Does Love Have to Hurt so much

"Why does Love Have to Hurt so much?"

from the first time I said "I love you"
I counted the days to the end
wondering why it happened and
where did it all begin

knowing it would never last because
it never has before
getting pushed away from you
Ill be walking out the door

things are never perfect in
this big old world of ours
the beginning, it was different
like floating in the stars

times have gotten difficult
with all the bills to pay, evidently
too much stress to carry love
through another day

I never meant to hurt you, babe
I can only do so much, but
know that when I think of you
Ill miss your loving touch

I cant say Im sorry
for opening up my heart
I thought we were soul mates, but
I see were worlds apart

I thought things were different
I thought you were "the one"
but now I see the way it is
a little problem, up and run

If things had been different and
had been the other way around
I would be there for you and
help out without a frown

people handle things differently
needless to say, this is such
the only thing I have to ask is
"why does love have to hurt so much?"

Love can be a pain at times...
